More Fun. More Confidence. Every Time You Paddle Out
This is 1:1 surf fitness coaching built around you – your body, your goals, your schedule, and your next session in the water. Whether you're preparing for a surf trip, building consistency between sessions, or just want to feel stronger and more confident every time you paddle out – this is where it starts.
The WAVE Method – Your Surf Fitness System
Every coaching program is built on four pillars. Together, they cover everything that matters for how you feel and perform in the water.
W – Workout Efficiency Short, surf-specific training sessions of 20 to 30 minutes that you can do anywhere – at home, in a hotel, at the office. No gym required, no fancy equipment. Every session is designed around what actually matters in the water: paddle power, core stability, mobility, and injury prevention. This isn't about spending hours in the gym. It's about making every minute count so you show up to your next session ready.
A – Active Recovery Surfing asks a lot of your body – and recovery is what lets you do it again tomorrow. This pillar covers mobility flows, stretching routines, and breathwork to help your body bounce back faster. For surfers who travel, it also includes sleep optimization and jetlag strategies, plus tools like HRV tracking to manage stress and know when to push and when to rest. Recovery isn't a luxury. It's what keeps you in the water longer.
V – Vital Fuel What you eat directly affects how you feel on the board – your energy, your focus, your ability to surf session after session without crashing. This isn't about complicated meal plans or counting macros. It's about clear, practical nutrition principles that work with a real life: quick guidelines for energy and anti-inflammatory eating, practical strategies for hotel buffets, travel days, and eating on the go. Simple fuel that makes a noticeable difference.
E – Executive Mindset Surfing is as much mental as it is physical. This pillar covers focus, resilience, and finding flow – the ability to stay present and confident in the water, especially when the waves push you out of your comfort zone. Through visualization techniques, pre-surf routines, and mental training, you'll build the kind of mindset that doesn't just help you surf better – it changes how you show up in everything. Because how you perform in the lineup is how you perform in life.
What Working Together Looks Like
This is personal coaching, not a template. Here's how the process works:
Step 1 – Discovery Call. We start with a free conversation. You tell me about your surfing, your goals, where your body feels strong and where it doesn't, and what you want to get out of this. I'll be honest about whether I can help – and if we're a good fit, we'll talk about next steps. No pressure, no commitment.
Step 2 – Assessment. Before we build anything, I need to understand where you are. We'll go through a movement and fitness assessment so I can see your strengths, your limitations, and what your body needs most. This is the foundation everything else is built on.
Step 3 – Your Personalized Plan. Based on your assessment, your goals, and your schedule, I build a complete coaching program around the WAVE Method. This isn't a generic PDF – it's a living plan that adapts as you progress. Training, recovery, nutrition guidance, and mindset work, all tailored to you and your life.
Step 4 – Ongoing Coaching. We work together continuously. Regular check-ins, program adjustments as you progress, and direct access to me when you have questions. I'm in your corner between sessions – not just when we're on a call. The goal is that every time you get in the water, you feel the difference.

Surf fitness coaching is personalized training designed specifically for surfers and ocean lovers. Unlike general fitness programs, every exercise, recovery strategy, and nutrition principle is built around what your body actually needs in the water – paddle power, core stability, mobility, endurance, and injury prevention. At Dance Like Oceans, coaching is built on the WAVE Method, which integrates workout efficiency, active recovery, nutrition, and mindset training into one complete system.

Dance Like Oceans is for surfers and ocean lovers of all levels who want to feel stronger, more confident, and more prepared in the water. Absolutely. Surf-specific training is different from general fitness. Even if you surf every week, targeted work on mobility, paddle endurance, recovery, and mental preparation will change how you feel and perform in the water.

Most personal trainers build programs around general fitness goals. I build programs around surfing. Every exercise, every recovery strategy, every nutrition recommendation connects back to what happens when you're in the water. I'm a surfer myself, so I understand the sport from the inside – what it demands from your body and what it gives back. That surf-specific focus is what makes the difference.
-
Absolutely. In fact, preparing your body before you even start surfing can make a huge difference. You'll paddle out with more strength, pop up more easily, and feel more comfortable in the water from day one. Many clients come to me before their first surf trip and tell me afterward how much more they enjoyed it because their body was ready.
-
Yes. Even if you surf regularly, targeted surf fitness training will improve your performance and longevity in the sport. Mobility work, paddle endurance training, recovery strategies, and mental preparation all add up to more energy, fewer injuries, and more fun – even for surfers who've been in the water for years.
-
Especially for you. Your body can absolutely keep surfing strong for decades – it just needs the right kind of training. Age-appropriate surf fitness focuses on joint-friendly movement, mobility, injury prevention, and smart recovery. Many of my clients started surfing later in life and are now surfing better than they ever have. The best surfer in the water is the one having the most fun – and that has nothing to do with age.
