There's a saying in surfing: the best surfer out there is the one having the most fun. I believe that. And I believe that having fun in the water gets a whole lot easier when your body is ready for it.
I know what it's like to love surfing more than almost anything. The countdown to the next session. The excitement of checking the forecast. And that feeling of wanting to make the absolute most of every moment in the water – but your body not quite keeping up.
I've been that surfer who was exhausted by day two of a trip. Who felt stiff paddling out. Who knew she could be having so much more fun if her body was just… ready. That frustration is exactly what made me build Dance Like Oceans.
Hi, I'm Frankie
I'm a personal trainer, surf coach, nutritionist, and passionate surfer based in Hamburg. I've surfed waves all over the world and built a life that keeps pulling me back to the ocean.
I kept noticing the same pattern – in myself and in every surfer I met: we'd paddle out full of excitement and then spend half the time recovering from bodies that weren't prepared. It didn't matter if it was a two-week trip or a regular weekend session – the gap between how much we wanted to surf and how much our bodies could handle was always there.
So I started training with intention. Not generic gym workouts – but surf-specific movement. Mobility for pop-ups. Core stability for the board. Paddle endurance. Recovery that actually worked. And the difference was immediate. I surfed longer. I surfed better. I had more fun. I stopped worrying about whether my body would hold up and started focusing on the waves.
That's when I knew I wanted to help other surfers feel the same thing.

I became a certified personal trainer and nutritionist because I wanted to do this properly – not just share a few exercises on YouTube, but actually understand how the body works and build real programs that make a real difference in the water.
I created the WAVE Method because surfers don't just need workouts. They need recovery strategies for travel and jetlag. They need nutrition that works with a busy life, not against it. They need the mental confidence to paddle into waves that scare them a little. And they need all of that to fit into 20 to 60 minutes with no equipment, because that's the reality of most people's lives.
Dance Like Oceans exists for surfers and ocean lovers who want to feel strong, confident, and prepared every time they get in the water – whether that's every week or a few times a year.

I've spent years studying surf-specific movement, functional training, injury prevention, and the science behind recovery and performance. But honestly, what I bring most to this work is the fact that I'm a surfer who trains surfers. I understand the sport from the inside – what it demands from your body, what it gives back to your mind, and why it matters enough to build your life around it.
